Spring Fever

Ohhh spring fever.
That electric little itch under your skin.
The urge to open windows, rearrange furniture, cut your hair, start a business, fall in love, or burn it all down and rebuild it better.
Let’s talk about it.
Because it is not just “a mood.”
It is biology. It is neurology. It is your body remembering light.
🌸 What Is Spring Fever, Really?
When the days get longer, light hits your eyes earlier and stays later. That light travels straight to a part of your brain called the suprachiasmatic nucleus. Yes, that is a mouthful. It is your internal clock.
More light means:
• Less melatonin
• More serotonin
• A dopamine bump
• A shift in cortisol rhythm
Translation?
You feel more awake. More motivated. More restless. More ready.
Your nervous system moves from winter conservation mode into activation mode.
That is not random. That is smart design.
🧠 The Neurology Behind the Buzz
Here is what is happening behind the scenes.
Longer daylight increases serotonin production. Serotonin helps regulate mood and energy. It is one reason you may feel lighter, more hopeful, more social.
Dopamine also rises with novelty and movement. And spring screams novelty. New smells. New colors. New routines. Your brain loves “new.” It releases dopamine as a reward.
Even testosterone and estrogen can subtly shift with seasonal light exposure, influencing drive, attraction, and physical energy.
So when you feel like reorganizing your entire life in April?
Lets be real, February!
That is not drama.
That is neurochemistry.
🌿 But Here Is the Twist
Not everyone feels euphoric.
Some people feel anxious. Wired. Restless. Sleep gets weird. You wake up at 3:30 again. Your body says “move” but your brain feels scattered.
Why?
Because activation without grounding can feel like chaos.
If your nervous system has been living in survival mode, more energy does not automatically feel good. It can feel unsafe.
This is where we get intentional.
💥 How To Use Spring Fever Instead of Letting It Use You
•Move your body daily. Even 20 minutes. Walk. Lift. Stretch. Get sunlight in your eyes first thing in the morning.
•Declutter one small area at a time. Your brain loves completion. It lowers stress hormones.
•Create instead of consume. Journal. Plan. •Paint. Redesign your space. Do not just scroll.
Regulate before you escalate. Breath work. •Slow exhale. Weighted blanket. Grounded touch.
Energy is neutral. You decide how it moves.
🌷 And Speaking of Movement…
Rebel is making yet some more updates to our space.
Yes. Again.
Because growth is not subtle in spring.
We are shifting things. Rearranging. Elevating. Making the room even more safe, even more grounded, even more alive.
If you have been in lately, you already know the vibe is changing.
If you have not… stay tuned.
Spring is not just happening outside.
It is happening here too.

And I am not playing small this season.
You ready? 🌿
